Stadium Australia

Stadium Australia

This world famous stadium was built for the Sydney Olympics in the year 2000. The capacity was reduced to 83,500 in 2003 but prior to this the stadium had crowds of over 100,000. The biggest ever crowd for a rugby match was recorded when the Wallabies took on the All Blacks in the Tri Nations of 2000 in front of 109,874, a game that is often cited as being the best rugby match ever.

Stadium Australia has become the most popular venue for Tri Nations matches with Australia enjoying a great deal of success in front of their own fans.
